Peter Gibson is a self-taught artist who has had a keen interest in drawing and painting from his youth that has continued to date. Peter was born on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia 1958. He was raised and educated in England and has lived In Finland since 1984. He is a artist with a strong fascination in trying to capture the mood of the moment, shown clearly in both his watercolour and oil paintings. His love of painting nature stems from the beautiful places that he has visited throughout the years. This love is depicted and shown clearly in his work, both watercolours and oils. He believes that his chosen medium counter balances each other because of their own individual characteristics. His work has a wonderful sense of light and shade. Equally, it can also be said that a strong feeling of space and depth is portrayed in all his work, with details that captures the wiewer's imagination and leaves them constantly searching around the canvas.
